Aims
4. The aims of the Marksmanship Program are:
to allow all cadets an opportunity to participate in a progressive marksmanship program;
to promote the safe and proficient use of firearms for sport and recreational purposes;
to produce proficient coaches and officials; and
to stimulate and maintain an interest in the CCO and act as a recruiting tool.
Part of every cadets training is the safe use and handling of a Daisey Air Rifle. These pellet rifles have been designed for the cadets to use in marksmanship competitions. The rifle is not considered a firearm in Canada due to the lower pellet velocity used.
Under the supervision of our RSO (Range Safety Officer), senior cadets and coaches cadets will be taught rifle safety and proper firing techniques.
These range nights are scheduled through out the year. For those interested, 2525 fields a competitive marksmanship team. All interested individuals are encouraged to try out for the team.
