Programs

Air Rifle training was introduced to the Canadian Cadet Movement in the 1990s. The addition of air rifles reflects the need for an inexpensive, readily available marksmanship program.

The Canadian Cadet Movement's Air Rifle is the Daisy / Avanti 853C .177 Caliber Target Air Rifle. This Daisy model was created specifically for the Canadian Cadet Movement

Cadets use the Daisy air rifle to fire upon paper targets.  The bull, or dead center, is about the size of the head of a pen, so accuracy is extremely difficult to achieve.  While firing, each cadet also has a coach beside them to change sights, pump the rifle, and make minor adjustments and suggestions.

Cadets on this team are always supervised by and Range Safety Officer and by multiple coaches.

An essential part of survival skills taught to Cadets is navigation using map and compass. This is called orienteering.

Cadets are taught how to use a compass, read a map and navigate.

SPORTS NIGHTS - THERE ARE MONTHLY SPORTS FUN NIGHTS HELD AT PICKERING HIGH SCHOOL.

Cadets get to choose sports to play , the theme is FUN!

FITNESS TESTING - TESTING HAPPENS 2 TIMES A YEAR.  THE FOCUS IS ON PARTICIPATION.  CADETS CAN EARN FITNESS BADGES THAT THEY CAN WEAR ON THERE UNIFORM.
