There is no obligation for you to join. You can just come in and have a look around and see whether or not the program is a fit.
You will have an opportunity to meet other new parents, get information about the program in general and specific to our corps, and see what a typical parade night would look like.
Enrollment of Cadets is free and completely voluntary. Enrollment in Cadets is NOT enrollment in the Canadian Forces. Once enrolled, your child will be expected to
attend regularly, maintain their uniform and commit themselves to the Corps.
In order for your child to be a member of 2525, they must:
a. Be at least 12 years of age but not older than 19 ;(Proof of age must consist of one of the following)
- a birth certificate issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal government agency;
- any card, visa or permit (work, study, resident, etc.) (with photo) issued by the Canadian government which legally authorizes the person to reside in Canada for an extended period of time; or
- any identification card (with or without photo) issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal government agency. No certificates of live birth please.
b. A valid Ontario Health Card.
c. Not be a member of any other Cadet Corps;
d. Attend weekly training and mandatory weekend training activities;
e. Complete the required enrollment documentation (see Joining Instructions below) to the Administration Officer (Adm O); and
f. Have been approved for membership by the Commanding Officer (CO).
